Appeals
Reid Brandborg has had success before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court. The most important thing you can do to help win your appeal is to get the information to your lawyer as soon as possible. Appellate work typically requires composing a written argument called a brief. Writing a brief requires the lawyer to be well versed in the facts of a case and to do substantial legal research. Depending on the type of case being appealed, you may have to file for appeal within ten days of the Court’s decision; and the brief may be due as early as 60 days after the appeal is filed. Because of these strict deadlines your attorney needs to be involved at the earliest possible time.
If you are thinking about appealing your case, call Reid Brandborg immediately. Remember, you may lose your right to appeal as early as 10 days after the Court makes a decision. If you miss the deadline you will have no right to appeal.
